DIY Time! New Years Eve Chain Heels

Add a bit of dominatrix to your persona this New Years Eve with a bit of shoe bondage!

Step 1: Mark a spot on the shoe where you want the chains to start on both sides
Step 2: Cut two (2) lengths of the craft chain and diamante chain in varying/ascending sizes (eg 10, 11, 12 and 14cm) so they hang as desired.
Step 3: Apply the super glue to the mark where the chains will meet and apply the chains one at a time, one side to the other.
Step 4: Put another dab of super glue on the top of where the chains meet on both sides and apply a stud.

Presto!

Now you are ready to be fierce on the dance floor!

Kris Kringle (Secret Santa) Christmas Dinner

Every year for a few years now my girlfriends and I do a Secret Santa as it was becoming too difficult and expensive to buy something for everyone and also buy presents for our family. We have a night were we get together and have dinner and fun and exchange gifts - this year it was at my house so I organised the dinner side of things on a BUDGET! {Christmas can be cruel sometimes}

I wanted something easy and no fuss so I opted for:
~ Smoked Ham
~ Roast Chicken
~ Turkey Roll (frozen)
~ Roast Potatoes & Carrots
~ Sweet Potato Green Salad
~ Bread Roll
~ Gravy

Next time I think I'll get a pre-cooked/smoked Turkey Roll because mine was pretty dry and just do the roast vegetables in my Turbo oven. We used the juices left over from the turkey to make a gravy. You could have pre-cooked prawns as well but that wasn't in my budget after I got everything else {which was too much anyway} also pre-made potato/pasta salad from the deli.

It might not be for everyone but during this busy time of year it nice to just buy and serve without all the fuss of hanging around the kitchen for hours on end :D

Modern Space Saving Christmas Tree

Where I live we don't have the option of having a 'real' Christmas tree being in the topics, so everyone has artificial trees - but I thought 'what if you have no space for a giant Christmas tree or perhaps you want something a little different or modern to fit your decor?'

Well I've gathered up a few options - I'm rather partial to the wall decals as I have some Christmas hanging ornament ones I used last year and they are very effective.

Winter Wonderland

We only have two seasons where I live up in the top of Australia – Wet and Dry – then there is the ‘Build Up’ (which is the lovely (!) time of year between the pleasant cool, crisp air of the Dry and the cleansing and exciting storms of the Wet) which is the time of year that you have to swim your way through the humidity in air…
This year happens to be, so far, one of our driest Wet Seasons - so the lack of storm relief and the humidity are way up there…
Now everyone links Christmas with the snow and colder climates, so I want to use that to my advantage and create a Winter Wonderland so it ‘looks’ cooler then it feels!
Last year my theme was red and silver for a traditional feel – this year I wanted to use white and silver for a clean crisp winter-y feel. I shall put my tree up next week so we shall see how it goes…

DIY Time! Festive Party Canvas Shoes

I LOVE a sexy pair of high heels like any other girl, but when it comes to 5 hours non stop dancing in a club I opt for a comfy pair of ballet flats to get me through the night. Now apart from Ballet flats as a staple for comfy footwear, canvas shoes are equally favoured, but they are generally saved for casual outfits. I love their cool persona they give off and wanting to adopt them as something I could wear on a night out. I am no stranger to wearing Converse type shoes with dresses but it can be hard to find ones that have a little attitude or bling unless you want to fork out a small fortune on a name brand for them the get totally ruined in a club...

Bring thorth my DIY Festive Party Canvas Shoes! Complete with glitter and 'studs' they are sure to get noticed among the abundance of high heeled beauties (and be infinitely kinder on the foot...) :D

Step 1: Find a pair of cheap canvas shoes
Step 2: Mark the front with a line where you want the studs to start

Step 3: Brush the fabric glue on one section (excluding the front section for the studs) of the shoe at a time
Step 4: Sprinkle the silver glitter on SPARINGLY until the shoe is complete
Step 5: Brush the fabric glue on the front section of the shoe and attach the studs

PRESTO!

I left my laces white but you could also use coloured ribbon or even tartan for Christmas (which I might do and post the pics).

Vice Versa Tokey Brush and Dustpan

How cute is this dustpan? It's nice when something so mundane and boring can be liven up - not sure how practical it is with all its grooves but it would cheer you up when the dust does attack ;) You can get it here
