$5 Retro Games
Just flicking through the latest selection of catalogues for this week {I ADORE ‘Junk Mail’!} and I happen upon a selection of $5 Retro Games from Kmart – Kmart are always reviving retro or nostalgic toys {like their Nintendo console they sold which apparently – and not surprisingly – sold out very quickly}. Their latest revive is a selection of popular 1950’s games in rather cute packaging. For $5 {even if it’s just for display around the house} you can’t go wrong!

The 50's! In the Kitchen:
Ok who doesn’t like a statement piece of retro furniture? There are so many styles you can venture into from 20-30’s Art Deco’s sleek lines, the 50’s bright coloured kitsch and the 60-70’s space age mod. You are bound to find something to suit your taste – I have a fondness for all three but that’s because I like anything with nostalgia J
Just taking a few elements can create a cool interior and provide some interesting focal and talking points!
I might make this a regular feature cause I love the topic so much and it doesn’t cost that much to get the feel sometimes. I’ll start it all off with my favourite era: The Fifty’s! In the Kitchen:
{Fortunately it’s quite easy and inexpensive to get 50’s style kitchen appliances nowadays - such as Morphy Richards, Delomghi, Russell Hobbs} Check out my coffe machine which is one crazy looking beast!
Delonghi Icona 4 Slice Toaster Black - $169 here
Morphy Richards Kettle + 4 Slice Toaster Cherry Red Accents - $189 for the both here
Sunbeam Mixmaster MX8500 Classic & Hand Held Mixer - $359.00 for both! {in heaps of colours} here

KitchenAid also have some seriously cute/sexy retro appliances in colours from lime green or pink to sexy boysenberry or colbolt blue. {KitchenAid has had the same styling since the 20's so the style is more reflective of that pre war era - A bit more like my coffe machine}

Sleek and sexy...prams?
The "Yummy Mummy" term has been around for a while now and although not all mum's have the time or interest in getting all dolled up and looking all chic it's reasurring that from the get go we can obtain a super sexy sleek pram so other people will have their eye on that, rather then the sweat pants and Crocs you just thrown on...!
At the moment it seems the minimilist look and travel options are the choice of savvy parents with an eye for style. I'm based in Australia so my choices generally come from Aust and NZ (apart from the ultra cool 'robot' pram I mentioned in my previous post).
www.Phil&Teds.com - particually the 'Promanade' and 'Smart' stroller/buggy -

The Smart stroller is actually a molded capsule that can be wiped clean or even hosed off when lovely bits of food get dropped between the crevesis.
www.stokke.com - Xplory® Stroller

Looking abit like those Segway PT's (which would be a cool idea for a hybrid pram...) this cute pram on stilts comes in an array of trendy colours.
www.mamasandpapas.com - Mylo Pushchair
Looking like something from 'War of the Worlds' this little alien beast looks like it's about to bounce of and shot lasers ☻
www.bugaboo.com Chameleon

One of my favourites at the moment is this number - rather robotic in appearance it looks like it should house a Transformer symbol.

Who's that baby? Nerd parents...
One of my girlfriends is pregnant (she calls it 'spawn') and is currently researching prams - I have a 4 year old so I thought I would keep track of what I liked for future reference as the pram I got my daughter years ago is a bit rough looking, plus it was ok at the time but I would like a few specific features - plus I want it to look cool and stylish :D
We were all good until we came across this one!
This little baby folds (rightly called the Origami) by pressing a glowing blue button and charges your iPhone! Get it here and watch the video.

Slideshows I agree with: The 25 most...
I love a good time wasting slideshow/countdown as much as the next person, who doesn't? So I though I would start to feature ones that interest me.

Aircraft Coffee Machine

The coffee machine I won in a raffle at my Grease movie night - so hot right?!
Looks so good on my kitchen bench. I love the retro look. Its a Gloria Jeans brand one, see here. I have yet to actually use it so I will update you on the ease of use for a novice coffee connoisseur like myself.
I went to a Grease themed movie night for a local fundraiser called Riding for the Disabled - Riding for the Disabled Association of Australia (RDAA) is a voluntary, nonprofit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy, stimulating, therapeutic, horse-related activities in Australia. http://www.rda.org.au/
My friend and I dressed up from the scene "Beauty School Dropouts" - we did have the most interesting and unusual costumes so we ended up winning best female costume! We won $50 voucher to a vintage dress store called "Vintage Twist" and $25 from "Golden Nails" a local manicure/pedicure place. To top it off we also both won first and second prize in the raffle! I won first prize of a Gloria Jeans retro style coffee machine, signed Grease frame plus $25 worth of vouchers for Gloria Jeans...obviously with all the coffee intake I will be buzzing about for the next couple of weeks :)

What do you collect?
Not sure if its creepy but this is the array on my bed side table - Just a note I have more Hello Kitty around the house...then I have an array of Betty Boop as well! Both I just noticed both Betty and Hello Kitty have giant bobble heads...
Whats your collectable passion?
